Video: Pan Fried Pathrado/Pathrode (Bajjile Pathrado)|Konkani Recipes

Taro leaves (Colocasia Leaves)/ Kesuvina yele are used to make a very popular dish called Pathrado/Pathrode. Generally the leaves are smeared with a masala paste, piled on one another and then rolled. It is then steamed and served. Here is one more variation that I learnt from my mother. Cutting into a whole jackfruit is a lot of work and can get messy. In this video, I have shown how to cut and remove pods, how to remove the sticky residue from hands and knives. Video: Haldi Panna Patholi/Patoli (Turmeric Leaf Dumplings) | Konkani Recipes | Nagara Panchami Special

Patholi is a unique sweet dish. A rice paste is made and spread on the turmeric leaf. It is then layered with coconut - jaggery mixture. The leaf is carefully folded and steamed. Once steamed, the leaves are discarded and Patholi is served with ghee. The leaves imparts a unique flavor to the dish which makes it even more tastier.
